2016 RARECAT St. Emilion Gran Cru
RARECAT St Émilion Grand Cru is produced from estate vines in the prestigious St Emilion's sector, Saint-Laurent des Combes. We blend lots from 66 year old vines planted on mostly limestone and clay soils making our 2015 supple and elegant but with backbone. 18 months in 50% new french oak. Bottle aged for 2 years. Ready to drink. We recommend decanting. 90% Merlot. 10% Cabernet Franc

Vineyard Notes
La Chapelle Vineyard is located in the Saint Laurent des Combes secteur of St Émilion. The average age of the vines is 60 year old. There are sever different parcels located on various soils with Limestone of the slopes, clay towards the bottle of the hills and some compacted sand on the valley floor.
Winemaker Notes
Barrel selection and blend with 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc from primary limestone and clay soils. Hand picked. Slow maceration in clay and stainless steel tanks. Aged 18 months in 50% new French Oak.
